The crumbly ground sausage and flaky puff pastry combined made this awesome tasty. It is a fun appetizer, snack or even breakfast! Crumbly sausage and cheese wrapped in a buttery, flaky puff pastry. Perfect for parties, showers, game day, and more over a quick breakfast.
How to Make:
First thing you need to cook the ground sausage in a skillet. If you like to you can add some garlic powder and onion powder to season the sausage. Once the ground sausage is no longer pinkish in color then turn off heat and add shredded cheddar cheese to skillet. Now stir to combine then. You don't need to worry about melting all the cheese because they gonna melt when baking!
Next step is to prepare the puff pastries. You can use home made or even get the Pepperidge Farm puff pastry sheets. In each box of it there are two sheets of puff pastry!
Now interesting part it is time to assemble puff pastry and sausage! In this stage cut the puff pastry sheet into about 9 squares of the same size.
Fill them with 2 tablespoons of meat and spread then to the corners of the square pieces. Now warp up pockets by folding in the other two opposite corners. Place on corner on top of the other, and use egg wash to seal the corners. Press gently to make sure it seals because they do open up easily during baking if they are not sealed well. You can warp them in different styles!
After warping up you can use rest of the remaining egg wash all over the top of the puff pastries. It will give then a glossy golden brown look when they are cooked.
It is better to use parchment paper or baking mat to place these puff pastries.
Now it's time to bake them!
Bake then in the oven at 400 degrees F about 17-18 minutes. Then take them out of the oven and now they are ready for serving!
